David Milner

Guitar/Vocals

David was introduced to music at a tender age. His first memories were of his Mom and Dad throwing great parties for his dad's employees. They would roll up the rugs on the hardwood floor and dance to the music of Sandy Dennis, Nancy Sinatra, and Tom Jones. One Christmas at the tender age of four, David got a rocking horse and his big brother Michael got an album by the Strawberry Alarm Clock. When his brother played the song Incense and Peppermints David got a euphoric feeling when rocking back and forth in time to the rhythm. David didn't realize it at the time but music would be his destiny.

Dave's destiny became reality, forming one of the most sought after bands in his hometown in western Canada and the northwest United States. David was the lead singer, rhythm guitarist, and keyboardist. He returned home, got back behind the drum kit and earned the privilege of playing with Doug and the Slugs, the Powder Blues Band, Spirit of the West, The Shuffle Demons, Doctor Hook, and Duke Robillard. Dave was offered the drum chair to tour with the Legendary Platters. After three tours with the Platters and not wanting to stay in one place too long, Dave moved to the New York area, and in no time was playing for 80's Ska legends the Scofflaws, and touring the country with the United State's foremost Celtic Rock band Lenahan.

On the advice of a friend Dave auditioned as the rub board player for the then fledgling Sidewalk Zydeco band. Falling in love with the music, Dave was accepted into the fold and after a quick member change became the drummer for Sidewalk Zydeco. As it happens sometimes in life, another member change occurred and Dave found himself in his current position as the guitar player and vocalist for New York's own Sidewalk Zydeco.

"It's fantastic to play a musical genre that involves so many styles that I love and makes everybody so damn happy. I feel so privileged to play with such great musicians who only want to get people up and out of their chairs and dance the night and their cares away."
